The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fire and Rescue Service Association of term 2022 - 2027 took place on July 30, 2022, in Hanoi.

Director of the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Ministry of Home Affairs Thang Thi Hanh, Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Nguyen Tuan Anh as well as representatives of departments and agencies of relevant ministries attended the event.

In recent years, the work of rescue, fire prevention and fighting has received special attention from the Party and State.

As the number of businesses, organizations and individuals operating in the field of rescue, fire prevention and fighting is increasing, leading to the need to connect them together to strengthen cooperation, coordination, experience sharing and mutual support to develop and improve the capacity of the force.

The establishment of a full-fledged socio-professional organization with full legal status is in line with practical needs and is an urgent requirement on the way toward industrialization, modernization and international integration of the country.

On May 31, 2022, the Ministry of Home Affairs signed Decision No. 415/QD-BNV on the official establishment of the Vietnam Firefighting and Rescue Service Association. Accordingly, the association is the first and unique nationwide professional social organization in the field of rescue, fire prevention and fighting.

It has an official legal entity and is subject to the state management of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the direct management of the Ministry of Public Security and other relevant ministries and branches that hold responsibilities for the field of activities of the Association.

Within the framework of the meeting, delegates discussed and voted the Association's Charter, elect the Executive Committee and the Inspection Committee according to regulations, as well as approved the Association's action program, the Association's development orientation for the term 2022 - 2027 and the Resolution of the first Congress.

The Congress elected former Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department Major General Bui Van Ngan as the Honorary President of the first term; President of NDTC Companies Nguyen Do Tung Cuong as Chairman of the Association; Director of Vietnam Safety Technology Joint Stock Company Le Manh Dung as Vice Chairman; Director of Van Bao Fire Prevention and Fighting Joint Stock Company Nguyen Phi Long as Vice Chairman and the General Secretary of the Association.

Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Nguyen Tuan Anh presents flowers of congratulations to the Executive Committee and Inspection Committee of the Association for the 2022-2027 term.

Speaking at the congress, Director of the Fire Police Department Major General Nguyen Tuan Anh congratulated the Vietnam Fire and Rescue Service Association on the official establishment saying that the association will be a bridge between the people and the State in the field of fire and rescue, bringing the fire and rescue law to the people, and at the same time support the State agencies in rescue, fire prevention and fighting.

The association will also help promote international cooperation in the field of fire and rescue, exchange information, share practical experiences and tactics of fire fighting and rescue with countries around the world to improve fire and rescue capabilities of Vietnam.
